raspberry leaf tea is an herbal tea made from the leaves of raspberries. no, it doesn't taste like raspberries, it tastes like leaves. mostly known for its benefits during pregnancy which have been known for centuries, dating back to the 6th century - often used within european folk medicine and indigenous medicine. i (alice) have never been pregnant, and i don't plan to, but there is a specific thing i love raspberry leaf tea for. cramps.

for a lot of women, menstrual cramps are something that is a massive struggle. painkillers like ibuprofen help, and i used to be extremely dependent on it, but when i went on a certain mediciation, i wasn't allowed to take ibuprofen anymore, and tylenol wasn't strong enough. so i read online that raspberry leaf tea is a good herbal remedy, so i tried it. and it was incredibly helpful, to say the least. my cramps went away after only two mugs - even when i took ibuprofen, i usually had to stay curled up for at least an hour before it started working.

was it the placebo effect? maybe. but i recommend this tea heavily for its medicinal benefits. at least try it, and see if it works for you. the taste is an earthy flavour with a heavy amount of tannins, so if you're not a fan of the plain and earthy taste, mix it with honey and some mint to make it an enjoyable experience, or your favourite sweetener and herb.
